We are constantly going through transitions, reacting to changing social and personal situations. Fluid washes refer to that movement. Layered transparency in my work suggests elements in our surroundings being in flux, coming in and out of focus as we pull for inspiration. This painting portrays a sensitive strength I witnessed in this model’s expression, as well as ginkgo leaves swirling in the atmosphere since they are symbolic of resilience.
