ART BIOGRAPHY OF ELSIE GOLL
May 16, 1915 – June 25, 2006

Elsie Goll painted and resided in New York City and Northport, NY; and worked in oil, etching and monoprint since 1948.

She studied painting privately with Sol Wilson and Xavier Gonzalez; with Jack Levine, Henry Varnum Poore and Sidney Simon at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture; and at Columbia University.

One-person shows were held at the Vera Lazuk Gallery in Cold Spring Harbor, NY the United States National Arboretum in Washington, DC, and at Mansfield State College, Mansfield, PA, where she served as a visiting art lecturer.

She exhibited in group shows at various galleries and institutions, including: Knoedler Gallery, Silvermine Guild, Audubon Artists, Provincetown Art Association, Artists Equity Association, Long Island Art League, National Association of Women Artists, and Brandeis University; and received various awards and prizes including the John Carl Georgi Memorial Prize awarded by the National Association of Women Artists.
