When painting with acrylics my interest is in exploring the boundaries between abstraction & representation. I reduce the subjects to bold, simplified forms & create excitement & tension on the canvases. What does our sky look like to us throughout the day? Daytime to night time. What affects are the accelerated rate of heating of the planet, depletion of the ozone layer, bleaching of coral reef & extreme weather shifts having on our skies, our sun, our planet? The impact of these significant global events inspired the acrylic triptych LA Discs (Environments).
