Tree Poem
acrylic, ink, charcoal on canvas
42 x 42 x .75

My work is inspired by our cousins, the tree. They breathe out and we breather in. Without trees we are nothing. We often forget that fact.

The most famous tree poem is by Joyce Kilmer. It begins ..”.I think I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest against the earth’s sweet flowing breast.” The poem continues for a few more stanzas. Research it if you want to know more!

I read Trees often when I painted this work.
