As the saying goes “when you know better, you do better”, and I’ve applied that philosophy to my paintings, many of which I’ve repainted/reclaimed and turned into something completely different. I’m the only one who knows what the underpainting looked like–and most of that gets covered up (as in this painting Dressed Up) with a combination of acrylic paint and stenciling. I never know what the finished piece will look like, and that is what keeps the process exciting and interesting for me. There is always more than meets the eye!
