This painting was begun experimentally by dripping paint, which I then slashed through. I had the idea of making some sort of dense floral, decorative abstraction, but it evolved into the painting of a hedge. Adding the doorway transformed it from a landscape into a mindscape, as we are invited to explore unseen depths.
