Finding Space boldly displays a figure I have been exploring for some time. Once timid and unsure, she is now settling into her environment, pushing against, and past, boundaries placed around her. While this piece did not begin as a true self-portrait, it grew into a solid representation of my own emergence as an artist. Reinventing myself in this next stage of life has brought me face-to-face with insecurity and self-doubt, but also revealed a strength and determination once forgotten.
