This painting is about ordinary commonplace experiences. I have been frustrated more than once by finding that a place I need to go to is closed for repairs. Being a longtime midwesterner, there’s a certain look the sky gets in winter when you can feel the snow coming, and a particular beauty to the bareness of the trees.
