Lenten roses are among the first to awaken after the frigidity of winter. These were particularly welcome popping up through the snow.
I had intended to refine this further. But after walking away from it for a bit, in what I had thought a somewhat unfinished state, I changed course. The impression imparts the fleetingness of these small wonders.
