I painted this in oils in a very quick fashion from a live model. The entire painting took 40 minutes to complete.
My goal was to show emotions that I was experiencing during the time of Covid and Isolation. I had become addicted to the news and found it difficult to get out of bed on some days. Caring for myself was a challenge as I feared that my loved ones mary become infected with Covid. Germs have always been my symptom of OCD and this was a true test for me. I was pleased to discover that I could handle the experience so I placed an egg soft sculpture on my models head to create humor during a time of fear. The egg and the painting made me laugh and gave me a break from my worries. Art had rescued me once again.
