This Buddha from the Shaolin Temple in China symbolizes the strong Asian influence on the Pacific Coast. Early Asian immigrants mined and built railroads along the U.S. West Coast. The 1972 TV show Kung Fu featured the Shaolin Temple in its storyline. Today, Asian communities on the Pacific Coast are large and thriving.
