There are a few locations around Paris known for lilacs. Jardin des Plantes located in the 5th Arrondissement usually boasts an incredible display of large bushes filled with lilacs. They coat the walkways, providing a magnificent display of purple tones that can be seen as you walk by. Near Notre-Dame, in the 4h Arrondissement, Square Jean XXIII also has a small but impressive arrangement. This location provides a striking view that softens the stone of the gigantic cathedral, making it a stunning juxtaposition, and an almost fabled story-like view. On a rainy day in Pittsburgh, I can escape to my paints for a reminder of Spring in Paris.
