Farideh Goldin left Iran at 22 for the United States, looking for opportunities denied her in Iran. She has published two books about her life ; “Wedding Song” chronicles her early years in Iran and “Leaving Iran” which focuses on her life during the early 90’s when the rest of her family escaped the country.

Currently she continues writing other peoples stories through her Blog, ” Food and Memory”. She explores the connection that food has with one’s history.

These are mixedmedia drawings, I use color pencil, watercolor pencil and neocolor ll on Rives Bfk paper. “Leaving Iran” uses images of the women in Farideh’s stories. “Food and Memory” incorporates an Iranian motif with food references in Persian.
