The painting is inspired by childhood memories.
Somehow, translations of Persian texts of Ferdowsi’s poems Shahnameh penetrated into Siberia behind the Iron Curtain.
The phenomenon of a foreign culture that came to the snows of Siberia to surprise and enchant with its exotic fantasy is reflected here in the form of an image of a Persian prince appearing either in a dream or in reality to a Siberian lady.
