Persephone’s Garden series explores themes of Women’s identities and sacred space held by women. Using the metaphor of the garden before Persephone was abducted by Hades, and historically cared for by women of leisure and/or servitude, and reimagining it as as space for safety, growth, reinvention. Bordering on abstraction and recalling American Impressionism, color worlds are invented and discharged with subtlety and nuance.
