These sculptural paintings are my own original style. I work with the paint and the construction at the same time, merging the two.
Although this art could be listed as wall hung sculpture (relief) or as painting alone, neither description would be accurate. They are a combination of both disciplines which interact so completely that neither would be complete without the other. Unlike “assemblage” or
“found object” sculpture these works are not 3D collages with elements highlighted by color. Instead through the use of many tints and tones of gray, the relief elements are subtly integrted with the painting. one flowing into the other.The colors themselves are controlled, yet full of variety, and held to a low intensity so as not to compete with the three dimensional elements.
This work uses gloves as hands to help create a clock.
