Painting is a much-needed creative outlet for me and I love to experiment with different techniques, pastels and surfaces. What drew me to the scene for “Reflections at the Pier” was the contrast between the red building and the cloudy sky. I was trying to capture the stillness and flat light of a cold day on the water and the texture of the wooden pier and posts.
