Garden of Happiness

Although my practice emphasizes abstract expressionism, I often paint florals when I am feeling gray. At the time that I put brush to paint and created Garden of Happiness I was struggling with a health issue. When I was able to get up the energy to face an empty canvas, I visualized sprays of greenery and thought if I could manage to bring out their color, just their sight would help me feel alive again.
