This small stone depicts a sweet moment in my life when I redirected my journey as a person, and started to truly immerse myself in my thoughts, desires and surroundings.
I am shown half submerged, relaxing into the warmth of the vessel’s water. The oyster refers to the sensual side of being a woman- luxuriating in a salty ancient essence.
The choice of revealing a female form from the ancient material of alabaster was apropos. It was exciting to see the form slowly appear, yet relaxing as well. The mood of the subject and the approach in sculpting it are in synch.
