This painting is inspired by remembered tulips whose magic and beauty in their fullness of bloom touched me emotionally. This painting, as with much of my work, evolved over time through my passionate interest in investigating and exploring the tools of painting, including color and textures and also line, shape patterns and layering -in service of expressing the magic and joy of nature’s creations. I seek to create paintings which create magic and have an emotional resonance. I want my paintings to invite the viewer to enter, wander around, and also be rewarded for prolonged looking by making continual new discoveries such as finding a color, texture, or shape not immediately noticed.
