Through my paintings, I’ve become attentive to the splendid drama of my everyday world. I’m intrigued by both the natural and man-made world and our place as humans in it. Through accentuating the inherent qualities of man-made materials like metal, concrete, and asphalt and the way artificial light illuminates and reflects on these materials, I try to transform what could be considered mundane subject matter to the sublime.
