Knotty Girl is one of my She/Her Series of wall tapestries mounted on Royal Poinciana tree pods found in my community. Traditionally, textile works have mostly been women’s work. I love combining fiber with other elements; the stainless steel washers offer an industrial feel while the soft pink Ghiordes knots of yarn and the sari silks of the skirt suggest femininity.
