My artwork is inspired by the life I see in things like stains and cracks on sidewalks, La Marchande d’oeufs is based on a crack from a sidewalk in my home city of Providence. Like all of my watercolors, this one is characterized style by minimal lines and childlike shading. My process is not defined by preconceived ideas on my part, but rather one in which I listen to the stains and the cracks that call out to me.
