PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER

August 14, 2024, the National Association of Women Artists founded a new chapter in the state of Pennsylvania to join those in Florida, Massachusetts and South Carolina. Former Florida Chapter member, Lolly Owens, missed the camaraderie that she experienced in Florida, and felt the need to create a link among the professional women artists in her community. She began by researching the names of those listed in the NAWA Annual Catalog as living in the state, and invited them to an introductory Zoom meeting for those interested to get to know each other. After a time, there was enough demand to create a formal chapter, which involved registering with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to establish status for charity and tax exemption.

The chapter held its inaugural exhibition November 6, 2025 – January 6, 2026, at the historical Abington Art Center in Jenkintown PA.

This exhibit included two artist talks November 19 and 22, a panel discussion and workshop, respectively. Many future exhibitions in the local Pennsylvania communities will follow!
