The NAWA Membership Committee has been tirelessly working toward bettering our member communication and expanding the benefits.
We have several exciting projects this year, such as building an education portal for all our members through the “Happy hour with NAWA” with a round table zoom discussion format. Topics will include the business of being a professional artist, which is not an easy task for creatives.
Our community outreach project, “Illustrate to Illuminate,” will start a meaningful conversation about the importance of art education and the need for society to support arts and art educators. In most cases, those educators are women. We plan to connect with member teachers in schools, universities, or even with solo art education studio owners.
Another important aspect is the maintenance of our records. If you are diligent and detail-oriented and have an hour or two a month, we will be so glad to have your help.
Another aspect of our work is procedures. NAWA reviews and improves systems regularly so that it is easy to get answers when you need our help.
With so many plans and responsibilities, the committee will be happy to see members from all different membership areas as part of our group. If you are a full member, an associate member, or a graduating student, we are happy to have you on board!
