As a military spouse residing on West Point, NY, I explore identity and belonging within this particular group. I am currently engaged in two different projects: 1. Creating traditional portraits of the military spouses that serve our country. 2. Creating disrupted portraits that demonstrate a process reflective of military life: the chaotic and relentless cycle of moving and starting over. These disrupted portraits are created utilizing a layered process that leans heavily on drawing and builds upon each layer. Reveling in surface quality while equally exploring the psychological space these spouses occupy, the portraits question what it means to be a spouse maintaining their personal identity.
