I am what you would call a Melomaniac (n) A person with an extreme or abnormal love of music. Music is my first love, and it is where I turn when I feel sadness, joy, celebration, frustration, anger, it is my escape. So, when I started painting it was the only thing that made sense to me. Music is a great unifier, it bridges gaps, it doesn’t matter what language, it can make you move. I paint people that have moved me in my life, it’s my tribute to them for the gifts they have given me. I listen to the artist I am painting as I paint them, I sing, sometimes I have a little dance session, sometimes I play air guitar with my paint brush. To quote the great Joe Strummer “Somewhere in my soul, there’s always Rock N Roll”
