Susan Lais Hostetler
Watercolor paints and pen and ink are the tools to which I’ve always gravitated. I’ve been carrying around a little watercolor set since I was a child, and although as an adult I know that watercolors are hard, fast, and difficult to control, I nearly always find the colors pleasing, even if I think I’ve botched it. I’ve been honored to be an award-winning and much exhibited artist. My style is loose and fresh in figure studies and fast-sketch art, and aiming for sublime in mountain landscapes and vintage barns, the latter often plein air paintings.
