Selene Paschoal

I’m a textile artist who is inspired by the world around me, especially by nature. I look at my surroundings with inquisitive eyes and mind, with curiosity, knowing there are hidden treasures to be found and turned into art. My artistic vision is rooted in the belief that art can exist purely for the sake of art itself, serving to make spaces more beautiful and enrich the environments in which we live. I aim for my work to evoke a sense of enjoyment, intrigue, happiness, and curiosity in those who experience it. My Brazilian heritage deeply influences my use of strong, bold colors, which I incorporate as a vibrant expression of my background. My artistic approach is mostly intuitive with a constant awareness of color combination and contrast. Using fabric as the medium to create my art pieces was a natural choice since I have been working with it since my teenage years. Creating my textile artwork is a multiple steps process that starts with visualizing the piece in my mind.
