Phyllis Shenny
I am digital photo artist. I take photos and either edit them for enhancement, alter or blend them with other images or other versions of the same image, or alter them to complete abstracts. As an art director and Parsons alumni, I always took many steps to get to a finished image so as this medium developed it was a natural segue back into fine arts for me. The philosophy of my work, is to be in the moment and enjoy the process. I don’t always have a finished product in mind but I take the journey and follow inspiration. My themes are color, texture and light, and I do have my favorite subjects such as architecture. The emotional aspect develops as I go, and I prefer the viewer to see what speaks to them and not have an obvious message. Some turn into winners and some not. As a cancer survivor I teach what I do in the Cancer Support Community to help others use art to express themselves. . I work with an iPhone and iPad Pro and many apps. I print on an epson archival photo printer.
