Patti Robbins
Over the past decade of her 25+ year artistic journey, Patti Robbins has found this period to be the most satisfying. More than ever, she is drawn to still life—bold, colorful, and dramatic. Intricate fabric patterns and vibrant color combinations captivate her, inspiring the creation of staged tabletop scenes. Flowers remain essential to her work, with tulips, hydrangeas, poppies, rare proteas, and especially sunflowers often taking center stage.
Each painting begins with a collection of fabrics and vessels, often joined by borrowed or newly discovered pieces. She explores pattern and rhythm—polka dots, stripes, and the shifting shadows of studio light—until the scene feels complete. As flowers begin to wilt, Robbins releases strict realism and leans into heart and memory.
