Drawing always came naturally as a child, and I found it quite relaxing, still do. My preferred drawing medium is graphite; however, I love to explore new materials and how they may be used in combination with the traditional. In the last few years, I have begun to branch out into painting and mixed media, enjoying the layering of color and texture as well as the contrast of opaque against transparent. People, all ages, shapes and sizes are my favorite subject matter. Rather than posed compositions I try to capture them in natural surroundings, in their quiet moments. My chief goal is to convey to the viewer whatever emotion the subject may be experiencing at the time, be it introspection, sadness, happiness etcetera.
