I am a self-taught, experimental photographer. I see and experience my work as representative of a “both/and” state–experiencing life’s messiness while simultaneously engaging, connecting and growing. Born during a time of isolation–COVID pandemic, and from a deep need to connect with the shutdown city, the streaks of electric light, motion, and emotion captured on my camera, helped me to cultivate resilience, purpose, and even joy, in the midst of loneliness, and chaos. Manipulation of camera speed, depth, and light sensitivity creates painterly photographs–“photo-paintings”. At times the movement captured is linear, at others a tangled interwoven abstraction. Each image expressive, vocative off unique feelings, and memories of the NYC life. Look through my camera with me to discover New York City and photography in a novel light.
