I am a narrator, telling stories, through my paintings for more than 45 years. Born in 1958, I have experienced innumerable changes in my life. With those changes, came hurdles and impediments. But nothing could take away my passion. With 12 solo exhibitions to date numerous group exhibitions in the States and other countries, innumerable accolades and awards. Migration has given me the valuable privilege of experiencing variety, enriching my insight. My series of paintings reveal poignant stories all their own. MIGRATION talks of my own journey to different countries. In CAPTIVE, I show the veiled women, the invisible or the visible screens that deter them from expression. My background might be Indian, my storylines might be taken from the pages of my own life, but I speak for the women the entire world. This Series begins with forming my complex, thoughts, based on the social observations I have made and am driven to express to the viewer.
