Defying the odds of traditional middle America expectations in the 60’s & 70’s, Michelle followed her intuitive nature, pursuing an artistic path. Attending the University of New Orleans fine art department nurtured & liberated Michelle’s voice. An experience which influenced her perspective on the value of art and life in general. As she continued her higher education, the work she created transitioned toward the abstract. Her education & quiet persistence in the arts have offered Michelle rich experiences as a gallery coordinator, exhibition juror, community arts committees & teaching all levels of art. She travels extensively & has been exhibiting her work across the United States since 1990. Michelle left a 24-year career as a fine art college professor and moved west where she began focusing the narrative of her work on revealing the stories of her journey through life. A painter & printmaker, Michelle’s studio is in Bend, OR.
