“Watercolor Works” explore the relationship between nature and the built environment. A favourite and traditional medium of Architects, historically watercolors served to record the topology of places, as well as special prospects or urban vistas. Mary Elizabeth Rusz continues this tradition in her paintings, conveying an impression of the “genius loci” or essential quality of each selected place. Ms. Rusz is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and Founding Principal of STUDIO MER. She is also a Member of The Arts & Letters Club of Toronto, and a Non-Resident Artist Member of the Salmagundi Club of New York, as well as the National Association of Women Artists, both in Manhattan, New York. Her works have been shown in Toronto, New York City, and Rome – most recently at her Solo Exhibition of 35 works at SCNY’s Thomas Moran Gallery.
