My paintings are about movement. My first art form was dance, which has informed my paintings of figure, flowers and landscape. I am interested in how to translate bodies in motion, action through brush stroke, washes that can create the moment and intention of the painting. Currently I am working on a series of paintings focused on flowers, which are a great palette to describe color, form and reflection. For this series I am using acrylic paint, which has loosened up my options to create movement in a 2 dimensional space, and perhaps a bit of mystery that can act like a reflection for the painter and viewer.
