I am a painter of landscapes and still lifes and still lifes that become landscapes. I have a vision most cannot see in life. Each painting represents a story told, a question posed or something revealed. I invite the viewer to visually travel around the canvas and experience unexpected shapes and colors that add a fresh emotional level to the landscape. My colors are strong and bold and some may even say imaginary, but the truth is that if they are not the actual colors, they should be. My paintings show what I think are the relevant aspects of the landscapes. I draw these landscapes numerous times until I know them well enough to tell their story. My explorations and ultimate paintings come from lengthy observation of my garden and travels to countries I now know well.
