The natural world and the life around us have always been the center of my art. They are the sparks that start the process. I like to explore the boundaries between representation and abstraction by reducing the subjects to bold, simplified forms and creating lots of excitement, tension and often lots of space in the piece. When painting with acrylics I paint primarily flat forms using neutrals or a riot of color. When working with clay it’s all about texture and form. In the recent collage and mixed media work I use a combination of all of these.
