My work focuses on interpreting complex light and structure relationships found within shallow water systems, especially though the flipped perspectives and shifting, broken, and merging images. Those tender environments become muse for what I call constructed or composed landscapes. In them I propose familiar forms in odd relationships to each other and the viewer, proposing the question “where do I stand”. A strong vertical as a simplified tree may well be advising the viewer as to where they stand, offering perspective and stability. Reconciling reflection across shadow around object as a form of visual calisthenics, for me puts chaos into order.
