Recently, when I was suffering from vertigo, I became obsessed with the starkness of black-and-white tv, where a sliver of my childhood played before me. Painting from video, I began a series of portraits of the “mystery guests” on the 1950s tv series What’s My Line? The retro, casual elegance of the panelists and guests helped to focus my whirling mind. My submission is a selection of these portraits.
