My work arrives intuitively as a fusion from my mind, heart and hand at any particular time. While accessing a mood, longing or memory in my mind’s eye, my paintings explore the limitless possibilities of abstraction. I’m intrigued by color relationships. Starting with simple marks, I end up many layers of paint later with overlapping colors that shift and dissolve, creating a movement of floating, amorphous shapes. Mainly working with quick-drying acrylics, pastels, graphite or other media become mixed with the paint. Surprises occur. Each work is a set of discoveries and an exploration unto itself. For me, painting is a process offering new beginnings, learning and growth. It is a journey I love.
