I am a representational painter working in oils and watercolor. As a native New Yorker surrounded by the incredible variety and energy of the city, I seek out the details and ‘small moments’ when the light and shadow reveal unexpected beauty in ordinary objects. I often paint highly zoomed-in details of buildings and infrastructure, incorporating dramatic light and perspective to expose the craft and subtle color in everyday objects. I have recently finished a series of paintings of a cast-iron bridge and am continuing work on an ongoing series of images of the Henry Hudson Parkway, in addition to cityscapes and studies of stone and metal.
