I enjoy Communicating a story. I do so by exploring the creative process and I find the blank canvas a surface begging for transformation. Through brush strokes, splashes of bold color, drips, and contour I hope to reveal an adventure for the viewer where shapes and objects have new meaning, and new context. The creative process is as important to me as the material selection, and the intention behind the work. Why a piece is created is as important to me as where the work will ultimately reside. Art holds the means to communicate throughout a lifetime. It fuels our souls and replenishes us. It can be cathartic and therapeutic. I enjoy conveying a message, impacting a viewer, and shifting and changing the world by leaving my mark. Even in small ways. A blank canvas can become an entire world to someone. It can hold a universe. I might create that for someone, and that is quite an honor.
