Georgette Veeder
The bodyof my work consist of cast and formed handmade paper sculptures. They are mounted on the wall and/or the floor. Handmade paper allows me to work large, yet weightlessly.
My art is a pathway to connect and interpret the natural world around me. Transcending descriptive words, I create staged landscapes defined by human presence.
I am fascinated with landscapes filled with complex lines, shapes, colors and textures. Topographical and organic forms stimulate my imagination. With forced perspective, textures, and scale I create illusions and challenge the viewer to engage.
