Nothing in Art can compare to being able to produce a series of cohesive work in your own style that is technically above average. How this comes about can be surprising and often unexpected. My journey gained momentum during the pandemic. When all things were closed the outdoors was still open. I began exploring my own street. strolling became a new way to learn. There were different trees in front of each house. Live oak, crape myrtle and even banyans. When I ran out of trees nearby, I went to local botanical gardens. Rangers might remember the Artist who rode the tram to find the Gumbo Limbo tree. Another example was the wax myrtle. I learned there was a trail of these trees and walked around until I found the right trees. No matter what method I used to find trees, producing a picture followed the same process. Placing myself in front of the tree or flower and capturing it. First in watercolor and then wax. I often used Nature’s excellent compositions.
