Francie Klopotic
Growing up in East Atlanta Village during the early 1970s, my child-world was a kaleidoscope of cultural diversity that I wholeheartedly embraced. I was exposed to musicians like Marc Bolan and David Bowie at a very young age. Some of my art reflects that early exposure to glam rock and hippie culture. I discovered Pop Art as a teenager and became a devotee of Peter Max, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. My taste for bold, expressive works evolved from there.
For years, my preferred medium was graphite pencils. In 2021, I tried painting with acrylics for the first time and fell in love with the medium. In 2023, I began working in oils and creating monoprints using acrylic, ink and watercolor. This year, I began exploring the exciting realm of abstracts and am experimenting with new techniques in my portraiture.
I currently live in Augusta, Georgia and am very active in the local arts community.
