Erica H. Adams
A postmodern artist since the 1980s invested in narratives in photography, sculpture and digital media, Adams revisited the Modernist language of abstraction, a private world, in response to the pandemic, quarantine and social upheaval.
Vibrant and volatile or subdued and nuanced, her watercolors are an inquiry and meditation towards healing. Adams seeks light, nuance and calm in response to discord through a contemplative and conceptual process.
Akin to visual music and conceived of as thought-forms, each disparate watercolor is present-rooted. Intimate in scale and touch, the luminous white paper is a reflective space where water and color interact.
