Christie Devereaux
I have had first-hand knowledge of seascapes while living on a 56-foot yawl during my childhood in the summer and crossing the Atlantic many times on freighters under incredible wild weather conditions. The sea is constantly transformed while being shaped by the relentless power of the changing force of irregular atmospheric motion. With each brushstroke, I strive to convey that vastness and depth of the seascape. It’s an infinite awe-inspiring force of nature that captivates my senses and fuels my artistic spirit.
My first 30 paintings are titled Argento because my paintings are primed with silver metallic acrylic which gives a refractive quality to the surface. As a result, when the viewer walks past a painting the light continually changes. Currently, with my exploration of this painting style, I have felt a need to create titles that describe the actual seascapes. Come and experience the essence of seascapes through my paintings.
