My portfolio experiments with iterations of garments and painting. I create series of works that use textiles metaphorically to contemplate the human condition, reveal qualities of femininity, and explore identity. What emerges is a visual dialogue that evokes a human presence, aimed at illuminating vulnerability as a source of strength. To elicit this clothing is deconstructed, then gifted new life when it is transformed to become low-relief grounds for paint application. This process presents a symbolic notion that authenticity can be revealed through acts of transformation. In this case, something wounded is reinvented and as my works primarily revolve around females, this enables a broader awareness of the feminine experience. Artworks in my portfolio investigate the emotive, internal lives of women, and human connections. Current work marries concepts about sense of self, transformation, and relevant feelings often too complex for words.
